🕊️ Memorial Bio – Julian Singfield (1976–2024)

Julian “Jules” Singfield was a radiant musical force whose voice, guitar work, and spirit touched audiences across the Eastern Townships and beyond. From childhood, Julian’s love for music was nurtured and grew into a lifetime of artistic dedication.

He was the charismatic lead singer of Apollo’s Mystic Caravan, a featured vocalist and guitarist with Oliver Klaus, and the visionary behind his solo alias, “6-3 Kid.” He also produced and performed in The Night is Young, a Montreal-based show alongside saxophonist John Juster, blending theatrical edge with soulful melodies.

Julian performed side-by-side with his father Maurice Singfield and uncle Bryan Singfield, forming a familial harmony that deepened Oliver Klaus's sound. He fronted Apollo’s Mystic Caravan with longtime collaborators:

In recent years, Julian had turned inward artistically, embracing solo performances with renewed depth. At the time of his passing, he was actively recording Somewhere in Mexico—his final album, and a heartfelt testament to his enduring passion and creativity. The record features both intimate solo works and dynamic collaborations, reflecting the full arc of his musical journey.

Early traces of that collaborative spirit can be heard on “Slip Right into a Dream,” recorded in the mid-1980s at the Oliver Klaus studio in Waterloo. The track features the original lineup of Apollo’s Mystic Caravan—Chase, Paul, Robert, Daniel, and Julian—captured while the band members were still in high school. Later, “Sometimes” came to life in Ottawa, shaped by a session with Case Bakker and friends, further showcasing Julian’s gift for bringing people together through music.

Standout solo tracks like “The Rest of My Life,” “Invisible,” and “Days” continue to echo through hearts and speakers, offering quiet grace and emotional resonance that endure beyond the final notes.

Beyond the stage, Julian worked behind the scenes as an Event Operations Specialist, setting up stages and rigging for live performances across Canada and the United States. He was a fixture at open-mic nights, music gatherings, and slopes—equally at home skiing down mountains or picking up a guitar under the stars.

Loved by friends, cherished by family, and known affectionately as “Jules,” Julian was more than a musician—he was a light. His generosity, laughter, and artistry continue to inspire.
